The router or a device on my network doesn't answer
Allow local network access: Settings › Apps › Nettools › Local Network. Many routers also ignore ping on purpose, which is normal.
Why does the app ask for location to show the Wi-Fi name?
iOS gives the Wi-Fi name only to apps with location access. Nettools never reads your location, and everything else works without the permission.
Traceroute shows rows with "*"
Those routers don't answer traceroute probes. That's normal; look at where the latency jumps instead.
Can it list all devices on my network or show their MAC addresses?
iOS doesn't let apps read MAC addresses or send raw packets, so no iPhone app can scan a network the way a computer can.
Where is my data?
Only on your device. See the privacy policy.
